If you buy a DaisyDisk license as an individual consumer, you can install it on all the Macs that you personally own and control, i.e. where you sign in with your own Apple ID, but not more than on 5 Macs.

DaisyDisk is a program that scans an OSX harddrive and conveniently displays the occupied space so that users can pick-out what is eating their harddrive space. The trial limitation includes: nag-screens. I’ve been using DaisyDisk for years now. Developed by a small team, DaisyDisk is a disk analyzer tool that manages to make the boring process of understanding what’s wasting space on your hard drive pretty and almost fun. We’ve covered the app quite a few times on MacStories over the years, and the basic functionality hasn’t.
If you buy as a business or an organization, you can either:
- Install the license on all computers that a single person uses.
- Install the license on one computer that multiple people use.
Otherwise you should buy multiple licenses, for each Mac or for each person, whichever number is smaller.

The license includes free minor updates, some of major updates may also be free of charge.
Free Trial
DaisyDisk comes with a free trial, which is activated after obtaining a free trial key. The goal of the free trial is to demonstrate what you can do with the app and how exactly it works, but it’s NOT a “free version” or a replacement of the paid license. After the free trial you should either purchase a license or remove the app from your computer.
The trial is currently not limited in time, but certain features are not available or not effective until you buy the license.
In order to receive the free trial activation key, you agree to provide us with your working email address. We may also use this address to communicate with you as a potential customer, i.e. send you tips on how to use the app, ask about your trial experience, occasionally send you information on available promos. We’ll not share you email address with 3rd parties. You’ll be able to unsubscribe from our emails at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
Please read this end user license agreement carefully before installing or using DaisyDisk (“Software”). This is a legal and enforceable contract between you and Software Ambience Corp. Licensing
Software Ambience Corp, as Licensor, grants, not sells to you, as Licensee, a non-exclusive right to use this Software under the terms of this License. Software Ambience Corp reserves all rights not expressly granted to you. Software Ambience Corp retains the ownership of the Software. The Software is protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. Unauthorized copying of the Software is expressly forbidden. You may be held legally responsible for any copyright infringement that is caused or encouraged by your failure to abide by the terms of this Agreement.
- The purchase and activation of a DaisyDisk license end all limitations of the trial period and grants unlimited access to the Software.
- This License allows you to install and use a copy of the Software on up to 5 qualified computers that you personally own and control and where you sign in using your Apple ID. This License does not allow the Software to exist on more computers than specified.
- The qualified computers are Macs running Apple macOS for which the Software is designated. You will need to review the system requirements for specific versions of macOS supported by the Software.
- The use of the licensed Software is not subjected to any time limitations, it can be used indefinitely long, provided that the version of the used operating system stays compatible with the Software.
- Minor updates and bug fixes are included with the License, free of charge. Minor updates are updates that do not change the major version number, i.e. the number immediately following the product name, before the first period in the version string.
- Major version upgrades — which include important new features and support for new operating systems and devices — are available at a discount for existing licensees. The size of the discount may be additionally agreed in the Appendix to this Agreement (signed separately). What constitutes a major upgrade will be determined at sole discretion of Software Ambience Corp. Major upgrades change the major version number, i.e. the number immediately following the product name, before the first period in the version string.
- Updating your macOS to a newer version may require a substantial rewrite of Software’s code in order to maintain compatibility with changes introduced by Apple in their operating system, which may warrant a major upgrade of the Software.
- You may not assign, rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense this Software. You may, however, make a one-time permanent transfer of all of your license rights to the Software (in its original form as provided) to another party.
- Except as and only to the extent permitted in this License and by applicable law, you may not copy, adapt, translate, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works of the Software.
This License Agreement governs any releases, revisions, updates or enhancements to the Software that Software Ambience Corp may make available to you. The Software is meant for your personal use (“fair use”). The Software does not grant any rights to the content it handles, as it only acts as a technical service provider. Any content that is handled using the Software is provided by user. The user bears full responsibility for all actions related to the content handled by the Software. Software Ambience Corp is not running any background rights checks for content that is processed with the Software. Software Ambience Corp is not affiliated with Apple Inc.
Customer support service
Software Ambience Corp provides customer support by email. The support includes providing information and assistance concerning the use of the Software.
The response for support requests may take up to 24 hours. Software Ambience Corp commits itself to reduce latency periods to their minimum, as far as possible. However, it cannot be held responsible for interruptions of the customer support service, or eventual delays caused by the need to technically handle the reported issue.
Consent to use of data
By becoming a Software Ambience Corp license holder or the free trial user you agree to our Privacy Policy.
Software Ambience Corp sends license holders important news regarding their license and its updates. These newsletters always contain an “Unsubscribe” button. We strongly advise license holders to remain subscribed, unless they intend to never use the product again: newsletters may contain information about critical bug fixes, security enhancements, new features or feature changes, and renewal / upgrade special offers.

Termination
This License is effective until terminated. Your rights under this License will be terminated by Software Ambience Corp automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this License. Upon the termination of this License, you shall cease all use and destroy all copies, full or partial, of the Software.
Disclaimer of warranties
Your use of the Software is at your sole risk. The Software and accompanying written materials are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied of any kind and Software Ambience Corp specifically disclaims the warranties of fitness for a particular purpose and merchantability. No oral or written advice given by Software Ambience Corp, its dealers, distributors, agents or employees shall create a warranty or in any way increase the scope of this warranty and you may not rely upon such information or advice.
Limitation of liability
Software Ambience Corp or anyone else who has been involved in the creation, production, or delivery of the Software cannot be liable for, and shall not pay any amount of incidental, consequential, direct or indirect damages (including damage for loss of profit, business interruption, loss of data, and the like arising out of the use or inability to use the software). You assume the entire risk as to the quality and performance of the Software.
Changes
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these terms and conditions at any time. If a revision is material we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, in whole or in part, please stop using the website and the Service.
Other terms
This License Agreement will be governed by laws of United Kingdom. ICC Rules of Arbitration will be used where applicable to dispute resolutions. This License Agreement is the entire agreement between you and Software Ambience Corp relating to the Software and: (i) supersedes all prior or contemporaneous oral or written communications, proposals, and representations with respect to its subject matter; and (ii) prevails over any conflicting or additional terms of any quote, order, acknowledgment, or similar communications between the parties. Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in this License Agreement will diminish any rights you may have under existing consumer protection legislation or other applicable laws in your jurisdiction that may not be waived by contract. This License Agreement may only be modified by the Documentation or by a written document that has been signed by both you and Software Ambience Corp. Should you have any questions concerning this License Agreement, or if you desire to contact Software Ambience Corp for any reason, please write to our customer support service.

DaisyDisk is a paid disk space analyzer for macOS.[3] It displays a sunburst diagram of files on a hard drive to help with the location or deletion of large files.[4] It can display previews of files using Quick Look.[5][6][7] It also allows the user to look at the file directly in Finder, in order to delete it or move it elsewhere.[8]

DaisyDisk was started in late 2008 by interaction designer Taras Brizitsky and programmer Oleg Krupnov. They built the codebase from scratch to try to achieve higher speeds than similar programs. They decided to use a sunburst diagram as it is perceived better than other ways of visualizing data (such as treemaps).[9]
Features[edit]
DaisyDisk needs to scan the disk to create a map of its files and folders. Once the initial scan is completed, DaisyDisk keeps all displayed information up to date and reflects all changes to disk in real-time. DaisyDisk can scan multiple disks in parallel. /moog-vst-mac-download.html.
With v4.5[10] of DaisyDisk, support for APFS was added.[11]
Interface[edit]
DaisyDisk displays the contents as a color-coded sunburst diagram, resembling the petals of a daisy.[12] The interface places the root of the hard drive at the center of this daisy, and displays a hierarchical structure of that hard drive's file system that radiates from that center. This daisy is color-coded to differentiate between folders, while files themselves are always displayed as gray. In the right sidebar of the interface, DaisyDisk also provides a legend for these color codes. When hovering over a file or folder, the right sidebar of the interface updates with contextual information such as the file or folder name and their absolute path.[13] When clicking on a folder on the daisy, a new daisy is displayed with the chosen folder as its root. The interface shows a 'breadcrumb trail' of the current folder right above the sunburst diagram.[6]
DaisyDisk provides a Trash-like collector icon in the lower left of its interface where files and folders can dragged and dropped for deletion.[13]
As of DaisyDisk v3, a specialized version of the app exists for Mac users with Retina Displays.[14]
Integration[edit]
One of the ways DaisyDisk integrates with the Mac features is through its support of the Quick Look function, which is included in Mac OS X v10.5 'Leopard' and later. Hovering over any file or folder in DaisyDisk's interface and pressing space bar utilizes Quick Look and displays additional information about that file or folder in regards to its location and contents.[12]
